Who This Book Is For

If any of this sounds familiar, you're in the right place.

  • You've built real expertise over years, and you're quietly wondering whether it still counts for anything.
  • You watch colleagues move through new tools with a fluency you don't have, and it stings more than you'd say out loud.
  • You're tired of the choice between “become a tech person” or “get left behind” — you want a third option.
  • You read serious nonfiction, not hype, and want an approach backed by evidence, not vibes.
  • You're a creator, business owner, knowledge worker or student building your career at exactly the moment the rules are changing.

About the Author

M. Analise Kandasammy spent over a decade managing risk in the Caribbean — reading the patterns organisations refuse to name until it's too late. Now she turns that same forensic eye inward, helping knowledge workers do what she once did for boardrooms: see the risk clearly, before it becomes a crisis. She's not an AI guru. She's asking the same questions you are — just a few steps further down the road.

What Readers Are Saying

Praise for Human, Still.

“A compelling and timely reminder that in an age increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, our greatest advantage remains our humanity. Drawing on neuroscience, psychology, and her lived experience, Analise skilfully integrates the work of lead thinkers with her own models… a thoughtful, practical, and grounded guide.”
Maxine AttongOrganizational Development Specialist, PCC-level Executive Coach, CMA & Author
“As someone who has spent decades helping people reconnect to their purpose, energy, and potential, it has been inspiring to watch Analise step fully into her voice as a writer… Human, Still offers readers a thoughtful exploration of focus, self-awareness, and what it means to remain deeply human.”
Leah de SouzaCPTD, Talent Development Strategist & High-Performance Coach for Leaders
“Kandasammy's premise is that we should out-human the machines rather than try to out-process them. She describes how predatory algorithms colonise our attention at the cost of deep, reflective thought—one of our greatest human advantages. Human, Still breaks down the science for a wide audience and offers practical, easy-to-implement practices to reclaim intuitive thought, moral judgment, and tacit knowledge that no algorithm can replicate.”
Dr. Paul BalwantCMBE, Senior Lecturer, Department of Management Studies, UWI St. Augustine
“As someone who spends my days teaching entrepreneurs and educators how to actually get good results out of AI, I can tell you the missing piece is almost never the tool — it's the judgment behind it. Human, Still is the first book I've read that treats that judgment as trainable infrastructure rather than a personality trait. Kandasammy builds her case through neuroscience and behavioral economics — her breakdown of System 1/System 2 thinking and how automation bias quietly erodes our "mental muscles" is one of the clearest explanations I've seen for why smart people over-trust confident-sounding AI output. Her core thesis is simple and correct: "We do not need to out-process the machines. We need to out-human them." The Legacy Lens practice alone — using your future self as a decision-making counsel — is something I'll be recommending to every client who's outsourcing judgment they should be keeping. This isn't a book about AI. It's a book about the one thing AI can't do for you, and why that's now your biggest competitive advantage.”
Resa GoodingHead of AI & Emerging Technologies, Quantum AI Research & Development Company Ltd.
“As a first-generation Caribbean immigrant who's spent 20 years in corporate technology sales — and who just completed a Global Executive MBA while building my own venture — I recognized myself in Kandasammy's "invisible scripts": the immigrant hustle, the hypervigilance of being the only one in the room, the inherited fear that quietly masquerades as ambition. This isn't a book about outrunning AI. It's about finally standing still enough to hear your own judgment clearly — and naming those patterns as neurological, not personal failure. It's the book I wish I'd had years ago.”

About the Book

Somewhere in the last few years, the ground shifted. And a quiet question started following you through the workday: am I still needed? If you're a knowledge worker, business owner or creative, that fear isn't irrational — it's data-driven. It's easy to read this as a countdown clock. It isn't. Human, Still names a third path beyond compete-or-comply: collaboration built on something AI cannot replicate — a clear, well-governed human mind. This book gives you a simple, repeatable framework for protecting the one asset no algorithm can own: your own clarity of mind. No hustle-culture fixes. Just a practical way back to yourself.

01 —

Physiology: Reset the Machine You're Actually Working With

Recognise mental fatigue for what it is — a physiological state, not a character flaw — and reset it using simple, movement-based practices that fit into a normal working day.

02 —

Attention: Reclaim the Resource Everyone Is Fighting For

Your attention is the most hunted commodity on Earth. Identify the hidden distractions quietly draining your daily focus, and protect it on purpose.

03 —

Judgment: Train the One Thing AI Can't Own For You

Machines process faster than you ever will. What they can't do is exercise judgment shaped by lived experience — train it to stay sound under pressure.

“When physiology, attention and judgment work together, something durable forms — a base no algorithm can own.”

The Result: Uncrackable Clarity

“The future isn't just coming — it's already making your decisions. In the era of agentic AI, your attention is the most hunted commodity on Earth. How do you protect what makes you truly human? Human, Still is a practical guide for the modern mind, free of technical jargon and hustle-culture fluff. You will go from fearful and overwhelmed to confident and intentional, learning to treat your focus and mental clarity as the ultimate competitive infrastructure in an automated world. Become the steady, clear-thinking person you are capable of being, one intentional choice at a time.”

How to Use This Book

About the Author

M. Analise Kandasammy

M. Analise Kandasammy has spent her career reading risk for a living, and now, inside the interior lives of the people trying to make sense of an AI-shaped future. She holds an MBA with a thesis in Enterprise Risk Management from Anglia Ruskin University and an MS in Business Psychology from Franklin University, and spent a decade in corporate risk leadership across the Caribbean. But her real training started earlier and closer to home: a lifelong habit of noticing the patterns other people walk straight past.

Analise is not an AI guru, and she'll be the first to tell you so. She's a Millennial who, four years ago, felt the same anxious hum you might be feeling now — that quiet, familiar question of “will I still be needed?” Her first instinct was the one most of us reach for: go back to school, get another credential, find something shiny enough to prove she was keeping up. Instead, she went looking inward. What she found became this book — a framework for protecting the one thing no algorithm can own for you: a clear, well-governed mind. She calls it Uncrackable Clarity, and Human, Still is her way of sharing it.

Writing from the Caribbean, a region still finding its own footing in an AI-integrated world, Analise brings a perspective too often left out of this conversation: grounded, unhurried, and unmistakably human. A native of Guyana, Analise lives and works in Trinidad and Tobago.
